A prophetic vision I have just experienced. This doesn’t happen to me often, and I was both surprised and encouraged by it. Do with it what you will.

It has been a hard day. While holding my sleeping infant daughter around 8:00 pm today, I had a vision of Christ on the crossbeam. With his head hanging down, and rain pouring over him, He spoke these sixteen words to me:
“Look up here, son.
Don’t give up on me.
I love you.
I’m suffering for you.”
It sounded like a first person version of things I have said to try and encourage others- “God loves you, never give up, He weeps with you.”. Living Water tastes so much better flowing from the source.
His words hung in the air like the smoke and haze that started to surround him. The rain I could understand, but why was everything in this sordid scene on fire?
I realized the first reason immediately, for His eyes were ablaze, as John has written, “The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire” (Revelation 2:18).
The second reason came to me a few seconds later, as the sky turned a darker orange in my mind’s eye. The man with the fiery gaze was going through hell for me.
My young family of five is going through a lot right now. I cannot share the details at this time. If you would, pray for us. Perhaps the pressures we are facing stem from my own foolish prayers, prayers in which I have requested a greater trust in the Holy Spirit. I don’t know what the future has to say about that.
Maybe there will be an abundance of diamonds at the bottom of this old dusty mine. But for now? It is enough that He has spilled His blood for us, and He weeps still when I cry out to him in anguish. As I write this, I am still holding my sleeping little girl- but my crucified Lord is holding us both, with His nail-scarred hands.
Breakfast with Jesus exists because there is room at His table for you. Come and have breakfast- eat and drink of the bread and the wine, and receive the rich new mercies that Christ has for you every morning.
